2025 Montgomery County Food Council Impact Report
We are proud to announce our 2025 Impact Report. 2025 tested the resilience of our local food system in profound ways. As federal policy shifts, rising costs, and historic challenges unfolded, Montgomery County’s response was made possible by something we’ve built over a decade: a deep, trust-based network of partners committed to collective action. We launched our Food Resource Specialist program to help residents navigate complex SNAP enrollment, strengthened food assistance organizations through Peer Learning Circles, established the Food Recovery Collaborative to rescue edible food, supported farmers with Climate Smart Agriculture grants, and advanced local food systems through our Farm to School report. Our deepest gratitude goes to our staff, council and board members, supporters, and community partners. Together, we’re building a food system that is equitable, resilient, and sustainable for all.
