County Executive Elrich is now accepting applications to fill two vacancies in the low-income sector of the Community Action Board and one vacancy in the private sector of the Board. The Community Action Board is an anti-poverty group that advocates for policies that address the needs of lower-income County residents. Learn more and apply here.
Maryland Department of Health Survey: Mapping Maryland’s Hypertension Programs
June 16 I Deadline to submit survey
The purpose of this survey is to map various programs and services across the state that help Marylanders manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and related health factors, like food security and physical activity. This survey is for you if you are a clinical intervention or community based program, or a program aimed at reducing barriers to care and management. This resource will assist organizations across the state in identifying service gaps, avoiding duplication of efforts, and establishing stronger local partnerships. Take the survey here.

County Executive and County Council Race
On June 23, primary voters will choose their party’s nominees for County Executive and County Council. A number of civic groups and organizations have issued questionnaires and voting guides to help educate voters on pressing issues and candidate positions. Community Action Agency I Navigation Academy

If you are committed to serving Montgomery County residents, consider applying for the Navigation Academy. This is a new training initiative developed by the Community Action Agency to strengthen community-based support and expand access to vital resources for Montgomery County residents. It is a 6-week hybrid training program designed for community advocates, nonprofit providers, and emerging leaders who are passionate about helping individuals and families connect to county, community, and federal benefits and services. To increase food scraps recycling and maximize convenient access to County residents, WRRS has created new food scraps recycling drop-off locations strategically located throughout the County.
