The Montgomery County Food Council hosted the third Moco Made Day of 2021 at the FRESHFARM Farmers Market in Silver Spring on Saturday December 18th. Moco Made Days are a component of the Food Council’s MoCo Made initiative, which provides educational, business development, and networking opportunities for Montgomery County entrepreneurs.
The MoCo Made Day at FRESHFARM Silver Spring put the spotlight on the delicious MoCo Made producers at the market that day, including Clear Skies Meadery, Dodo Farms, Twin Valley Distillers, Metro Microgreens and Banner Bee Artisan Honey. These businesses proudly displayed MoCo Made decals and copies of the Food and Beverage Guide in their tents, making it easy for shoppers and residents to identify their products as MoCo Made.
While at the market, the Food Council connected with MoCo Made businesses, engaged with community members, networked with new businesses, and shared information about the Food Council and the MoCo Made program with residents.
Community support for local businesses is evident in the number of residents that are “regulars” at the FRESHFARM Silver Spring Market. These folks make a point to know vendors by name, stop by their booths every week, and show their support of MoCo Made!
This bustling Silver Spring Farmers Market is open year round on Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM at 1 Veterans Pl, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
